Book Report for Safari

Use Book Report's browser extension in Safari to import data from your publishing accounts.

You need a Mac running macOS 13 or later and Safari 16.4 or later.

Install the app​

  1. Download Book Report for Safari.
  2. Open the downloaded .dmg file and drag Book Report for Safari into Applications.
  3. Open Book Report for Safari from Applications. If macOS asks whether you want to open the downloaded app, click Open.

Keep the app in Applications. It contains the Safari extension and handles its updates. Once setup is complete, you can close the app and eject the disk image.

Turn on the extension​

  1. In Book Report for Safari, click Open Safari Settings.
  2. In Safari's Extensions settings, select the checkbox beside Book Report.
  3. Allow the extension to access Book Report and the publishing websites you use. For KDP, this includes Book Report and Amazon. Choose Always Allow for those sites so the permission stays in place for future imports.

If you use Safari profiles, enable the extension for the profile where you use Book Report. You can do this in Safari > Settings > Profiles, then select the profile and its Extensions tab.

Updates​

Open Book Report for Safari from Applications and click Check for Updates to check for a newer version.

Get help​

Email hello@getbookreport.com with your macOS version, Safari version, the publishing account you were trying to import, and what happened. Include your Book Report Account ID, shown at the bottom of Book Report. A screenshot of any error message helps too.

To stop using the extension, deselect its checkbox in Safari's Extensions settings. To remove it, select it there and click Uninstall, then follow Safari's instructions to remove the app.
